MISSION STATEMENT |
At Detroit Custom Drums,
our goal is to build a great quality drum,
to the customers specifications, for a good
price. We are not caught up in the
trends of today. We build timeless
drums that you will be happy with even after
the flavor-of-the-month is gone and
forgotten, while still attempting to push
the design boundaries....

NEWS |
February
2007 -
Still waiting on the paint
job for the Chopzini snare
to be completed.
Should be done by Summer,
but don't hold me to it.
Prices on ALL snares will be sliced 25% until the end of March.
Prices current pricing can
be found
HERE.
November
2006 -
Pricing is now up on the
website for Toms, Basses,
and Snares. Pleas
email us for a custom
quote if there is something
you want but do not see.
On a semi-related note, until further notice, we will ONLY be
providing finished in solid
stains with satin oil or
polyurethane top coats, or
laminate wraps. This
is to keep costs down, and
for lack of spraying
facilities to do proper
hi-gloss top coats.
Due to some miss-communications between the end client & the
painter, the Chopzini
Customs snare drum is still
being worked on.
Hopefully it will be done by
the end of the year...
August 2006
- The first Detroit Custom
Drums prototype lug is
complete (pic).
There will be a few minor
changes to it before it
starts going on our drums,
but the overall look will be
the same.
The plans for a full kit for
CHOPZINI CUSTOMS is also
now being finalized.
Their snare drum is being
finished up at the painters
now, and pics should be up
within a week or so...
July 2006
- Work has now begun on a
prototype drum lug that will
be EXCLUSIVE on our tubs.
This lug will be made by
EGO Drum Supply out of
Oregon, USA. Look for
a glimpse of these here in
the next few weeks...
June 2006
- A recently completed
piccolo snare
is now for sale. See
the 'For Sale' column to the
right for more details...
April 2006
- Work has begun on a unique
snare drum for
CHOPZINI CUSTOMS, a
custom chopper company out
of Milford, MI. This
drum will be 8x14, and have
custom DICE lugs & a custom
paint job by
MATTHEW HOCKADAY.
There is also a good
possibility we will build an
entire kit for the
promotional use of
CHOPZINI CUSTOMS.
Check back soon for pics of
this killer snare drum... |
